Creative: Strengthen Your Spirit
I've been keeping a dream journal for a good ten years or so. Every now and then I read back through the entries and find inspiration hidden among those crazy dreams.
Keeping a dream journal means that you have to have pen and paper by the bed. You know how easy it is to forget a dream, no matter how vivid at the time. There has been many a night that I have awoken with a dream fresh in mind as if I had just walked out of a theater, and I have grabbed the paper in the dark and scribbled the gist of it down right then and there.
I'll share one with you of a few years ago - written just as I jotted it down in the night - no editing! It's pretty funny...

dream of last night. i am with a group. don’t know who anyone is. we’ve been working together on something. going places. at one point i am in the passenger seat of a truck. like a bobtail truck - one of those delivery type ones. the driver has to get out or leave. i don’t know which. i offer to drive. climb over the center console. get behind the wheel. i notice the gear shift in the center. put it in reverse. i can’t see where i am going. the rearview mirror is fogged. from the side mirror i see that i have hit a gas canister. it’s white. one of those ones that you use for a backyard gas grill. it didn’t tip over. i say that i cannot drive this truck. it’s dark outside. i can’t see. and the roads are slushy. i need someone else to take over. at that point i am outside next to the front passenger door, trying to get dressed, sort of. i am standing in the slush. boots on. a light blue plaid shirt is sitting in front of me. stiff. buttoned up. sleeves sticking out. i am trying to put my boots down through the top of the shirt. it is tricky. finally i get them through. i finally get my arm through the last sleeve opening. i have a white long underwear type shirt on underneath the plaid shirt. i think. what a struggle, but at least i got it done. i wake up.
