Children: Let Them Amaze You
While listening to my local San Francisco symphony station on the way to work the other day, the announcer introduced the next piece by Joshua Bell, the famed violinist, with a short story about his childhood. At the age of four, his mother discovered that he had strung rubber bands across the nine drawers of his dresser so he could mimic the sounds of his mother’s piano playing. Soon after, his mother purchased a small-size violin for her son. At the age of seventeen, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall. Since then, the whole world has delighted in his talent on stage and in film.
You can see Joshua Bell on season three of “Mozart in the Jungle” on Amazon prime, in the episode, “Creative Solutions for Creative Lives”.
