Children: Let Them Amaze You
The Teenagers of Las Varas
I am in Mexico for a month, volunteering as the story writer for a Rotary project to remodel two schools in the Nayarit region (about sixty miles north of Puerto Vallarta). The following photos show a defining characteristic of the Mexican culture - that of working together to get a job done - and the outstanding work ethic of the youth.
A fellow volunteer told me that on Saturday, he had worked till dark, and was amazed to see that the same core crew of teenagers that were there that morning before he arrived at 8:00 a.m., were still there, cheerfully working away!
